The Best MRT Workouts To Get Ripped
If you want to learn more about Metabolic Resistance Training workouts as a way to burn more body fat faster than ever before, you’ve come to the right place. This entire site is dedicated to MRT workouts. I’m going to tell you exactly how you need to train, help you find the best workouts possible, and show you how quickly you can burn off stubborn body fat, tone your abs, and build firm muscles.
What Is Metabolic Resistance Training
MRT Workotus, as they’re known for short, are powerful strength workout routines that are made up of circuits with a short rest in between. This is often called insufficient recovery circuits.
A circuit is simply a number of exercises that you do one after the other quickly with no rest in between them. A Metabolic resistance training workout is made up of a number of circuits. You only get to rest in between circuits.
What this type of workout helps you accomplish is to maintain an elevated heart rate through longer periods of the workout, create a harder exercise experience, burn more calories and give yourself a big metabolism boost. I’ll go over that last bit further below. There’s also a workout example later on.
Two Types Of Metabolic Workouts
There are two types of Metabolic workouts:
1. Heavy workout. The exercises in this workout are done with big weights and heavy resistance. This is great for strength development and muscle building.
2. Conditioning workout. These exercises are done with low resistance and are great for building endurance and for toning and sculpting your body.
Both of these types of workouts burn a lot of calories and fat. They are both useful. When you combine the two of them, as Craig Ballantyne teaches in his TT Metabolic Resistance Training manual, you can actually burn a lot of muscle at the same time in which you build muscles.
This is done by performing heavy workouts on some days and conditioning workouts on others. As far as I know, Craig Ballantyne is the only one who teaches this… although I also write about this on this site.
Why Are These Workouts Effective?
There are a number of reasons why these are the best workouts that you can do:
1. They don’t take long – Because they’re done in circuits, MRT workouts don’t take a lot of time, so they’re perfect for busy men and women.
2. They get faster results than other workouts – This has been proven beyond a doubt. In fact, you may be able to burn fat up to 4 times as fast as with other workout methods.
3. These workouts give you a big metabolism boost – By doing these sort of workouts you get a higher metabolism for many hours after the workout is done.
Let’s talk about point number 3:
The key to fat loss is your metabolism. When it runs high you burn calories very quickly and you’re able to lose body fat almost at will.
MRT workouts create a heightened metabolic state in your body which keeps your metabolism running high for up to 48 hours after you finish your workout. By that time, you’re rested and can do another workout. What this means is that you can achieve a huge metabolic boost continuously, almost all the time. This is why these are some of the best workouts out there.
Metabolic Resistance Training Circuit
Here’s an example of a circuit that can be used in an MRT workout. You can repeat this circuit up to 4 times. Just make sure to do a warm up beforehand and to not rest between any of the actual exercises, just between circuits:
- 20 kettlebell swings.
- 25 push ups.
- 20 squat jumps.
- 15 squat and DB shoulder press.
- 15 Australian pull ups.
- 15 Bulgarian split squats (with each leg).
- 20 forward lunges with bicep curls.
